Family:  Married to Verla since 1970.  Two children, Christopher and Lindsey - born in 1977 and 1985.

Occupation:  Performance engine builder, pilot in the National Guard.

Racing Experience:  Started racing at Woodburn dragstrip at the age of 16.  Ran in modified production, stock and super stock prior to concentrating on engine building.

Butch finds a tremendous amount of enjoyment in assembling his engines, and coming up with winning combinations.  The satisfaction of getting phone calls on Monday morning describing event wins and national records is a rewarding experience that very few people can appreciate.  Anyone, who knows Butch knows the tremendous amount of hours he puts in and would recognize the truth his statement, "I have the incurable disease known as racing."
